Nohub iOS 2.0 is available now. The update adds two ways to manage the shield, a place to record urges, and a clearer view of your progress. These changes are for iPhone, not an announcement of new Mac features.

Choose Standard or Commit

Standard asks you to type a confirmation sentence before turning the shield off. Commit starts a 24-hour wait instead, giving a decision time so an urge can pass before blocking ends.

During the wait, the shield stays on and your streak keeps counting. You can cancel the wait at any time. When it ends, a notification announces a 4-hour window to confirm turning the shield off.

Commit also prevents app deletion, keeps the phone clock on automatic so the wait cannot be skipped by changing the time, and blocks explicit music, podcasts, and books.

There is an important limit: iOS Settings always lets you revoke Screen Time access. Nohub cannot prevent that. If access is revoked, the app ends your streak and explains why. It is a barrier you choose, not a bypass-proof lock. Nohub replaces manual Screen Time website-blocking setup while using Apple’s framework internally; it is not another filtering layer to stack on top.

Record urges and see patterns

The Home button is now “I have an urge”, not a stop button. Choose to resist or give in. Every urge is recorded, and resisted urges count as wins. In Stats, see urges resisted, total time shielded, your best streak, the last 7 days, and the times of day urges tend to come.

Keep your history as progress changes

Your streak counts only while the shield is on. You can reset your clean-time counter without turning off the shield, and the previous streak remains in your records. Your streak and past streaks migrate automatically from 1.x. On a new or restored iPhone, Nohub asks for access again and your streak continues.

There are now 11 progress levels, from Awakening at day zero to Lighthouse at day 365, including Bedrock at day 180. Each newly reached level gets a celebration screen. These are milestones to acknowledge, not a medical recovery timeline.
